It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that the 9th annual, Yudh 2011 Sikh Martial Arts Gatka Tournament, will take place in San Jose, California, USA ! The tournament which is now in its 9th year has been presented every year at a different venue and showcases some of the best Gatka players from across North America. This year's tournament will feature competitors from across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. The Challenge
Fari Sothi (Stick and Shield) Gatka Tournament
Competitors face of against one another in a round robin type tournament. The competitor at the end of the match with the most points wins and moves on to the next round until only two competitors remain.
Singhs:
Fari Soti
18+ Male (1st -$1100, 2nd -$700, 3rd -$400)
Male 14-17 (1st -$700, 2nd -$300)
Kaurs:
Female 17+ (1st -$700, 2nd- $400) - pending minimum 4 competitors
Female 13-16(1st -$400, 2nd-$300)- pending minimum 4 competitors

Kirpan Demonstration (Singhs and Kaurs)
Competitors will showcase there skills with a kirpan(s) individually. Competitors get a maximum of 90 seconds for their demonstration. Judges will score demonstrations on pantra, speed, vaars and overall skill level. The highest overall score wins.
Male 18+ (1st -$600, 2nd-$300) - DOUBLE KIRPAN MANDATORY
Female 18+ (1st -$600, 2nd- $300) - DOUBLE KIRPAN MANDATORY
Female 15-17 (1st -$300, 2nd- $250) - SINGLE KIRPAN ONLY

Chakar and Marahti Demonstration (Singhs Only)
