It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that the 7th annual, Yudh 2009 Sikh Martial Arts Gatka Tournament, will take place in Carteret, New Jersey, USA ! The tournament which is now in its 7th year has been presented every year at a different venue and showcases some of the best Gatka players from across North America. This year's tournament will feature competitors from across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. The Challenge
Sothi and Fari (Stick and shield) Gatka Tournament
Competitors face of against one another in a round robin type tournament. The competitor at the end of the match with the most points wins and moves on to the next round until only two competitors remain.
Singhs:
Single Soti
18+ Male (1st -$1100, 2nd -$600, 3rd -$300)
Under 17 (1st -$600, 2nd -$300)
Kaurs:
Female 18+ (1st -$600, 2nd- $300) - pending minimum 4 competitors
Under 17(1st -$300, 2nd-$200) – pending minimum 4 competitors

Kirpan Demonstration (Kaurs Only)
Competitors will showcase there skills with a kirpan(s) individually. Competitors get a maximum of 3 minutes for there demonstration. Judges will score demonstrations on pantra, speed, vaars and overall skill level. The highest overall score wins.
Open to competitors of all ages.
Double Kirpan Female ONLY
17+ (1st -$500, 2nd-$300) - pending minimum 4 competitors
Under 16 (1st -$300, 2nd- $200) - pending minimum 4 competitors
